July 2025 Board Meeting Recap
July 23, 2025
We hope you are having a great summer so far! We're excited to share a recap of our recent monthly Board meeting, highlighting the positive steps the Board is taking to enhance our wonderful community.
As always, we encourage you to join us at our regularly scheduled meetings, held the 3rd Friday of every month at 11:00 am at the Canyon Falls HOA Center (6950 Canyon Falls Drive). Your input and participation truly make our community stronger!
District Updates
Leadership Changes
Director Jon Holder has moved out of our District boundaries, and is no longer able to serve on the Canyon Falls MUD 1 Board. We are sad to see him go, and incredibly grateful for his service and dedication to our community!
Increasing Police Presence
We're pleased to announce that the Town of Flower Mound has approved a contract for increased police presence throughout our neighborhood! The contract is currently waiting to be executed. We believe this will be a fantastic step towards enhancing safety, specifically helping with speeding issues throughout our neighborhood.
Road Closures and Construction Updates
Good news on the road front! Pavement repairs at the intersection of Prairie Ridge and Hickory Falls are underway, and should be done within the upcoming days (weather permitting). During this time, the road will be closed on the south side. Please plan accordingly and use alternate routes, if possible. We truly appreciate your patience as we work to make these necessary improvements throughout the District!
Additionally, we've approved the removal of the large barrels placed in front of the gate on Stone Bridge, replacing them with clear and visible "Road Closed" signs. These new signs should provide much clearer directions for vehicles traveling down that road.
Addressing Speeding on Prairie Ridge
We're actively discussing options to mitigate speeding and associated risks, especially around the school area on Prairie Ridge. We're still exploring solutions, but we're hopeful that the upcoming police presence will help with speeding. The Board will be asking the police chief for definitive observations on Prairie Ridge to guide our next steps.
Drought Restrictions & Education Plan
The District receives its water supply from the Town of Northlake, which is provided wholesale from Upper Trinity Regional Water District (UTRWD). UTRWD has introduced drought restrictions in several communities to encourage water conservation.
The Board of Canyon Falls MUD 1 is currently investigating and gathering information on drought restrictions and the potential impacts before enacting anything for our District. If restrictions are needed, we will let residents know through clear signs around the District and informative posts on our website.
Website Engagement and Communication Efforts
The Board is committed to keeping you informed about the District's operations, initiatives, and important updates. We discussed making it easier for residents to understand what we're doing through our website and potentially the HOA's weekly newsletter. These meeting recaps are also here to help connect the Board and residents, ensuring everyone has the information they need. Please continue to visit our website for the latest District news, construction updates, water service information, and more!
Thank you for being such wonderful neighbors and for your continued support of our community initiatives. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to any Board member.
Warm regards,
Canyon Falls MUD No. 1 Board of Directors
